INDUSTRY-COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

As Malaysia moves toward the realization of Vision 2020, various initiatives have been put in place to achieve the goal to become a developed and high income nation. UPM strives to bring together the triple helix of academia, industry, community and government to support the country’s development strategies and nation’s well-being. In line with that, UPM has taken initiative to develop a blueprint entitled “Industrial and Community Engagement: A University Framework” with the aim of working closely with the Industry and Community to develop and implement programmes to support the National Key Economic Area (NKEA) fields and identified social problems. Therefore, UPM would like to invite Industry and the Community to work along with the University’s academic staff towards addressing the above objectives.

The mission of industry and community engagement of a university is to ensure impactful engagements through the building of a strategic relationship which will mutually benefit both parties. University Community Transformation Centre (UCTC) UPM spearheads and coordinates the community service networks for UPM in various fields such as community development, agricultural advances, entrepreneurial expansions as well as professional advancements in line with the nation’s demand and country’s requirements.
